Homestay offers safe, comfortable accommodation and can be easily arranged before you get to Melbourne.

Homestay

A Homestay allows you to become part of an Australian family and is a great way to experience Australian life and practice English.

Families involved in the Homestay program undergo a police check and are interviewed before they can enter the program. 

Homestay costs approximately $220-$240 per week.  This fee is paid directly to the family and includes three daily meals, a furnished single room, electricity and gas.  You must pay for your own telephone calls, email and Internet costs.

An administration fee of $180 AUD applies to Homestay applications.

Other Accommodation Options (not arranged by AMES)

Students who organise their own accommodation may choose to stay at serviced apartments, youth or backpackers hostels. Contact details of these accommodations can be provided upon request.

How to apply

• Online - At the same time as applying for an AMES International course or, if you have already applied online for your course, before you receive your Letter of Offer, please use this online Homestay form.
• By post/fax - Print the Homestay form and post or fax to AMES at any stage during the enrolment process.

Please note: If you have not applied online (via this web site) or if you have already received your Letter of Offer, you must use the post/fax option.

AMES will then find a family that matches your requirements.
