Social enterprise
AMES Community develops projects that focus on improving the economic well being of disadvantaged people from refugee backgrounds. Since 2002, we have been looking at ways of addressing the systemic unemployment issues experienced by many new arrivals.
AMES social enterprise model is premised on the principle of autonomy. CALD communities own and control their respective enterprises. The role of AMES is to assist in building the capacity of CALD groups, develop their enterprise tailored to community needs and provide ongoing support for the enterprise maintenance, growth and sustainability.
