English for Youth
The AMES Youth Program offers recent arrivals aged 18 to 25 an opportunity to improve their English and assist them with settling into their new life in Australia. All classes are full-time and free for eligible learners (check your eligibility for the AMEP).
Learners are placed in classes according to their English language proficiency and undertake the accredited Certificate in Spoken and Written English.
The program focuses on developing learners' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in a supportive environment with professional staff.
In the class, learners are taught independent study skills and skills to help them gain employment. Students work closely with each other on class projects in preparation for mainstream education and training.
