Small Business Training (NEIS)
The New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) assists unemployed people to establish a commercially viable business. The NEIS program provides:
- business training
- a 12-month allowance
- business mentoring.

Business Training
Certificate IV in Small Business Management (NEIS) is a nationally accredited training program covering a comprehensive range of small business management skills, including business plan preparation. It is a 7-week full-time course.
The NEIS training component is a Centrelink-approved activity for a period of 13 weeks from commencement of training.
Financial Assistance
A fortnightly allowance equivalent to Newstart, paid for 12 months by the Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations.
Business Mentoring
One-on-one business counselling sessions with an experienced business person during the 12-month income support period.
