After Registration: The Next Step
Applications for teaching should be processed within one week of application, but times may vary. You will receive a notification confirming your suitability, requesting further information, or advising why you cannot be registered to teach with AMES.
If you are advised you are suitable to teach with AMES, your details are recorded on a central database maintained by the AMES Human Resources unit and accessed by all AMES Education sites. Education sites then contact teachers at a local level when work is available. There is no formal system or ranking of teachers to determine which teachers are called upon for work so it may assist you to contact Education sites directly to introduce yourself and to keep in touch with the site regarding your availability (please note you should only do this once you have received a letter acknowledging your registration with AMES). You should also advise Human Resources should any of your personal details or availability to teach change, in order to update the AMES database.
