United Wood Cooperative

The United Wood Cooperative (UWC) was established in 2002 by nine African Australians living in Melbourne. As the enterprise grows the founding members share their success and skills by welcoming additional members to join the cooperative.
The UWC creates employment and training opportunities for people who are interested in establishing a career in the furniture and manufacturing industries.
The UWC runs work training programs for Job Network clients such as Work for the Dole.
The UWC specialises in making a range of furniture and household items from recycled timber. Each product is unique and crafted to highlight the natural beauty of the timber. The products are available in a range of sizes suitable for the house, garden, apartment or office.
UWC Products

Currently the UWC is making a variety of planter boxes, chopping boards, cheese boards and knives, jewellery boxes, candlesticks, coffee and hall tables, traditional african saunas, picture frames, wooden toys and more from 100% recycled timbers.
You can order a planter box in the length, width and colour of your choice. They will brighten any balcony or courtyard.
