Humanitarian Settlement Program contracts announced

AMES Australia is pleased to announce it has been appointed to provide the Commonwealth Government’s Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) in Victoria and looks forward to continuing this important work supporting the settlement of refugees in the state.

AMES Australia has also been appointed to deliver the program in South Australia and Tasmania.

The contract was awarded to AMES Australia and our partner organisations across the state after a competitive tender process conducted by the Department of Social Services and is effective from October 30.

AMES Australia has long and extensive experience in providing support to people newly arrived to Australia, including refugees, migrants and asylum seekers. For many years we have delivered similar programs in Victoria and elsewhere.

We plan to work collaboratively with state and local government as well as with community groups and other agencies in the important work of ensuring the best settlement outcomes for our clients.

Our priority and focus will be to support our clients to achieve economic and social participation and to use our strengths-based practices to work with them to build successful lives in Australia.

From experience, we know that with the right support, refugees can make extraordinary contributions and become outstanding members of society.

The Humanitarian Settlement Program provides a range of support services for vulnerable people forced to flee their homes and who have been accepted by Australia as humanitarian visa entrants.

South Australia

South Australia has a long and proud history of welcoming newcomers from across the globe and AMES Australia is delighted to be able to make a contribution to that in providing good settlement outcomes for refugees which will bring long term benefits to the state.
