Coburg is conveniently located only 8km north of Melbourne’s CBD but has a surprisingly intimate community spirit and range of sporting fields and parks.
Many multicultural services are provided in the community including language services and interfaith gatherings. Educational, social, recreational and support programs are also provided through Community houses for people of all backgrounds, ages and cultures.
There are numerous parks, reserves and creek trails, including the Coburg Lake Reserve, which features playgrounds, BBQ facilities, picnic tables and an outdoor gym. The Harmony Park features a stage for outdoor performances as well as BBQ facilities and a skate park.
The suburb is accessible by train, tram and bus and has extensive shopping arcades including major supermarkets and the Coburg Market.
Every year Coburg runs several community festivals and events including the Coburg Carnival and Movies in the Park.
