Ringwood is located 23 km east of Melbourne's CBD and is known for its expansive shopping centre.
Before the 1850s land sales Ringwood was used primarily for agriculture and emerged as a more notable town in 1882 after the construction of the Hawthorn to Lilydale railway.
Ringwood’s public transport now consists of a railway and bus network that provides easy access to the Outer Eastern Suburbs as well as the city.
The area has a number of sporting clubs, leisure facilities and caters to a range of outdoor activities.
The picturesque Ringwood Lake is used for various recreational activities and features a lake, bridge, playground with accessible equipment, picnic shelters and BBQs.
For all shopping needs there is Eastland, a three-storey precinct with multilevel undercover parking, over 230 retail stores, dining, entertainment and fresh food.
