Sunbury is a regional city located on the fringe of Melbourne that has shopping, parks and a big focus on community spirit.
Located 40 kilometres north-west of the Melbourne CBD, Sunbury is serviced by V-line train services and bus services.
The area has outdoor shopping strips as well as the Sunbury Square Shopping Centre and the Sunbury Terrace Shopping Centre. A Farmer’s Market full of fresh produce is held every second Saturday of the month and is located in the historical grounds of the Gatehouse Café.
A number of reserves, sporting facilities and a leisure centre allow residents to stay healthy and active. Parks include the Sunbury Bicentennial Park and the Apex Park, which has a playground and BBQ.
Sunbury offers community support through Goonawarra Neighbourhood House. Goonawarra offers a range of social and recreational programs based on community demands, as well as childcare and other activities for young families.
Programs for the multicultural community are offered at the Sunbury Library including kits for learning languages and other items in community languages available for loan.
