Sunshine, located 11km west of the Melbourne CBD, is a multicultural suburb with a diversity of shops, food and outdoor attractions.
Getting around is relatively easy as a train line and several bus services service the suburb.
Along with street shopping strips, Sunshine has two shopping centres, the Sunshine Plaza and the Sunshine Marketplace. In addition to these, a new street market was established recently selling arts and crafts every second Friday.
Residents can enjoy the a number of outdoor attractions including reserves with playground and picnic facilities, heritage walks and the Kororoit Creek Trail – a 12 km bike and walking trail that runs along the Kororoit creek through Sunshine.
The Sunshine Library caters to the multicultural community with conversation clubs, books and CDs for people learning English as a second language, and newspapers in community languages.
The West Sunshine Community Centre provides low cost or free events where you can meet new people in your community, learn new skills, join a support group and partake in activities that promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.
