AMES Australia is committed to supporting students undertaking Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training qualifications to gain experience across a wide range of services and activities across AMES Australia, such as:

Education and Employment: 

Learn English, Vocational Training & Youth Services, Jobactive and Statewide Recruitment Services, Return to Work and Service Delivery Support.


Offering Humanitarian Settlement, Status Resolution Support Services, Career Pathways for Refugees, Accommodation Services and Community Support Programs to new arrivals in Australia, to name a few of the services available in Settlement.

Multicultural Hub: 

The City of Melbourne's Multicultural Hub is like a neighbourhood house; a friendly place where people from Melbourne's many different cultures can get together and work, share and learn in a safe and supportive environment.  The Hub offers Activities for individuals and community groups

There may also be opportunities within AMES Australia’s service areas, for example, Finance, Human Resources, Risk and Quality.

AMES Australia is also committed to:

  • Supporting students enrolled in professional programs, relevant to the services delivered by AMES Australia, to undertake education in the form of student placement.
  • Providing student placements to allow students to integrate theory with practice and further develop skills through a supportive and professional environment.
  • Contributing to the building of national social capital through student placements.
  • For the student, increased understanding and awareness of the world of work, accelerated personal maturity, self-awareness and ability to articulate skills and achievements. 

How do I apply?

If you are interested in submitting your application for a work placement at AMES Australia, please complete the Student Placement Request Form and submit.

*Please note AMES Australia requires a minimum of four weeks notification of an expression of interest for student placement, in order to meet staffing and program requirements.  Applications may be rejected if this notification period is not provided.
