Community Support Program for VIC
AMES Australia has been selected as an Approved Proposing Organisation (APO) in the Community Support Program (CSP), a private sponsorship program for refugees and people in humanitarian situations overseas.
AMES Australia has been helping migrants and refugees to settle in Australia for over 70 years. As an APO in Community Proposal Pilot (CPP) for for the last 4 years (preceding the CSP) we assisted hundreds of applicants with visa applications and settlement, with a high level of success. Over 90% of the visa applications lodged by AMES Australia in the last year of the CPP were granted.
The CSP harnesses community support for refugees, including the willingness of the Australian business community to support refugees in practical ways through employment. Under the CSP, Australian supporters (through APOs) are required to demonstrate they are able to provide adequate support to enable new arrivals to achieve financial self-sufficiency within their first year in Australia.
Please kindly be informed that Expressions of Interest for the CSP has now closed, and we will notify you once there is an update from the Department of Home Affairs.
AMES Australia will initially be selecting Expressions of Interest from Supporters who are based in Victoria, for applicants who will reside in Victoria. If you reside in another state, please register you interest for the CSP with AMES Australia here.
For more information on the CSP, visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and Expression of Interest (EOI) pages. Please note that this information only refers to AMES Australia's model for the CSP.
