Local Area Information
St Albans is a thriving multicultural suburb that has parks, community support and a diverse range of food and shopping.
Located 15 km north-west of Melbourne CBD, the area is serviced by three train stations all located on the Sydenham line, as well as numerous bus services.
In the heart of the suburb is a shopping precinct that includes major supermarkets as well as local delis and fresh groceries. Residents can enjoy tastes from around the world with the healthy supply of Asian, European and Middle Eastern restaurants in the area.
The St Albans Library reflects the needs of its diverse community with programs such as conversation clubs, a collection of books and CDs for people learning English as a second language, and newspapers in community languages.
The local council has recently updated a number of playgrounds, including the Biggs Williams Reserve, which also has new ball courts.
