Irene Yu - Director, Migrant & Multicultural Banking at Westpac and Bank of Melbourne
Irene has over 20 years’ experience as a corporate banker with international and domestic banks across multiple industries. She leads an experienced team that helps connect people, trade and capital and flows between Asia and Australia supporting new arrivals and established migrants to prosper.
Dr Melika Yassin Sheikh-Eldin – Manager International & Community Development at AMES Australia
After fleeing war from Ertirea in the late 1970s, she has completed a doctorate, set up refugee-centred social enterprises and helped thousands of new arrivals to Australia settle successfully. She has been involved in developing world-leading settlement programs and represented AMES Australia and Australia at United Nations forums.
Lavania Parker - Innovation Manager at Australia Post
A senior finance leader with a global career across Malaysia, UK and Australia and responsible for providing insights and commercial acumen to drive the organisation’s strategy for business improvements and innovation. She is passionate about driving Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and has been instrumental in helping culturally diverse women to navigate their careers and construct their leadership goals within the organisation.
Prabha Bogoda Arachchige - PhD candidate at Monash University
The social inclusion barriers that Prabha experienced in the early settlement stage in Australia gave cause to her research pursuits. Her PhD research will examine the process of social integration/ inclusion for Non-English-Speaking migrant women in Australia.
