What is Aged Care?
A Home Care Package is a government-funded program that helps older Australians stay at home longer by providing support with daily tasks. Services are tailored to your needs and may include help with cleaning, personal care, transport, shopping, and more.
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are 65 years or older (or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people)
- Need support to continue living at home
To find out, you need an Aged Care Assessment (ACAT). We can help guide you through the process.
How to get started
Step 1:
Register with My Aged Care Call 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au
Step 2: Have an ACAT Assessment
An assessor will visit your home to understand your needs and recommend support.
Step 3: Receive Your Package
If approved, you’ll be placed on a national waitlist. When your package is assigned, you’ll receive a referral code.
Step 4: Choose a Provider
Contact AMES Australia with your referral code. We'll work with you to create a care plan that suits your needs.

If you are eligible for a course, we will make an appointment for you to have an interview. At this interview a teacher will test your English level and according to the outcome, you will be placed in a class with students with a similar English level.
