AMES Australia and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

AMES Australia provides settlement assistance and services to recently arrived refugees and migrants in Victoria. We work collaboratively with the community, businesses, and Government to develop settlement programs to make the migration and settlement process as seamless as possible.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 integrated goals seeking to “Leave No One Behind” in a diverse range of categories including decent work, quality education, gender equity, sustainable cities and communities, among others. Importantly, they are to be achieved by all countries irrespective of financial status, therefore organisations such as AMES also have a responsibility to contribute to relevant goals.

AMES will integrate the SDGs as part of our social impact work and measurement. Aligning AMES work to the SDGs will also help refine and expand on how we apply our Settlement Framework for Social and Economic Participation, as well as provide future opportunities build new partnerships around the goals.
