- This qualification reflects the role of workers who assist teachers and support student learning in a range of classroom settings.
- They complete general administrative as well as operational tasks to support students with learning under the guidance of a teacher or other educational professional. Work requires use of discretion and judgement within the boundaries of established policies and procedures.
- Education support workers work mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools, as defined by State/Territory legislation

- Essential skills needed to work as an Educational Support Worker.
- Acquire hands on experience of minimum 100 hours during the work placement.
How will I learn?
The course will be offered in blended learning model
- Classroom-based Learning (Face to face), where you attend AMES' campus with a Teacher/Trainer present
- Online Learning, where you study remotely off campus via MS Teams, using training materials that are provided online or correspondence by the Teacher/Trainer

- Education support workers worker and Teacher’s Aide, mainly with students in classroom settings in primary or secondary schools.

Under SEE Program, in addition to all the units in this qualification, you will be provided with 2 additional LLN Units to improve your oral communication, reading, and writing skills for success in VET courses.

All potential learners will undertake a Pre-Training Review (including a LLND assessment and a pre-training interview). Learners’ language and numeracy skills should be at least ACSF level 2 and level 3 in at least three of the skills of Oracy, Reading, Writing, Learning and Numeracy.
Learners will undertake a Pre-Training Review (PTR) in order to establish the prospective student’s suitability for enrolment in this course.
Cost
This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. Please refer to the schedule of fees for more information here or contact AMES Australia to check your eligibility for a concession fee.
There may be extra charges for learning materials, first aid certificate, police check & etc.
A fee concession to a student enrolled under the Asylum Seeker VET Program can then be granted in accordance with the Guidelines about Fees.
