Minister encourage to report racially driven attacks during COVID-19

Reports emerged in the past weeks that racially driven attacks towards Asian-Australians had risen.



On 28 April 2020, the Acting Immigration Minister Alan Tudge called on those who have been the target of racist attacks to report it to police, and asked witnesses call out and condemn the behaviour.

In Victoria, victims can either lodge a complaint under the state's Racial and Religious Tolerance Act, or with the Human Rights Commission under Section 18C of the Racial Discrimination Act.
