I arrived in Melbourne at the beginning of January 2019 and started to look for a job. After 5 months of unsuccessful attempts, I enrolled in the Skilled Professional Migrant Program (SPMP) offered by Ames Australia. The SPMP gave me better understanding of the Australian workplace culture. Despite my previous Australian experience, I found the program very beneficial to me. I learnt how to write a professional resume and cover letter, how to go through an interview and how to approach an industry. The Mentor program that SPMP offers is also very helpful. Professional Mentor with many years of experience led me through the whole recruitment process, which was just fantastic. I finished SPMP at the end of June and after a couple of interviews I found a perfect job in the middle of August. I started working at BSE – Building Services Engineers as an electrical engineer and I wish to continue my professional development there.
